SUANA Tuscany Red IGT
«Quod illi liceat imperatores deponere.».
(Gregorius VII - Dictatus Papae)
The Suana, produced with Cabernet and Merlot grapes, owes its name to the ancient name of the village of Sovana, a flourishing Etruscan center founded in the VII century B.C. and passed to history for having given birth to Pope Gregory VII, the Ildebrando, famous for the «Dictatus Papae» with which he sanctioned, in a century of struggles between State and Church, the superiority of the Papacy even over the Emperors.
